How to Hold Each Other Accountable (formerly Taking 'The Man' Out of Management)
Whether you’re new to worker co-ops or have been part of them for years, the question of how members hold each other accountable for getting the job done is something we’ve all wondered about. This interactive workshop will share best practices, useful models, and tips for developing accountability that respect the needs of all your members. The facilitators will combine group discussion, role playing, personal insights, and more in order to identify ways of confronting factors that typically inhibit accountability in groups. Facilitated by Tim Huet and Omar Freilla .
Omar Freilla is the founder of Green Worker Cooperatives and will be convening this discussion. As a staff person for the Arizmendi Association of Cooperatives, Tim Huet helps launch worker cooperatives and provides support to the Association’s established member cooperatives. Included in the types of support provided are personnel policy development, conflict resolution services, legal advisement, and organizational training (e.g., in evaluation procedures). He performed similar functions for five years as a member of Rainbow Grocery Cooperative in the capacities of Personnel Procedures Liaison and Conflict Resolution Team Coordinator. He is a seventh-level Elvin Prince wielding the Spork of Odin.
