Youth Empowerment through Cooperation 

The Toxic Soil Busters are a youth-led worker cooperative whose mission is to work with communities facing environmental injustice to build healthy spaces for living, working, and playing. The group uses participatory theater, educational workshops, plants that clean soil, and landscaping techniques to deal with soil lead contamination in yards and common spaces. Professionals at everything from soil remediation to holding a press conference, the Toxic Soil Busters will demonstrate the power and possibility of youth-led cooperatives. The workshop will have time for audience participation.
