This month, USFWC member Magic Broom Co-op will be presented with the Innovation Award by DC SAFE in honor of their mission and co-op model to empower Hispanic women workers coming to America after fleeing violence and persecution in their home countries.
Magic Brook Co-op is a cooperative of cleaning workers in the DC area creating trauma-informed work environments for survivors. Magic Broom is a partner in DC SAFE’s SAFE Space Crisis Shelter.
Magic Broom Co-op will receive the award at Keep DC SAFE, the annual gala DC SAFE holds each year during October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The gala will take place on Thursday, October 9. Details and tickets can be found here.
