On International Workers Day, we honor a global legacy of worker struggle—one that includes worker co-ops.
May Day is a day of celebration and defiance across the globe. For centuries, farming communities marked the season change with hope. Later, the labor movement made May Day a symbol of resistance—embracing the defiant hope working people have to have control over their daily lives.
Worker co-ops bring to the labor movement worker power through control over the means of production and our decisions at work.
Your contribution builds worker power by helping the U.S. Federation of Worker Cooperatives (USFWC) support the growth and sustainability of worker-owned co-ops throughout the country.
For those who are able, we ask that you consider signing up to be a Sustainer – a donor who gives automatically on a monthly basis. Consistent monthly donations helps us plan into the future, which is particularly relevant as our field is facing cuts in resources.
Support USFWC as a Sustainer here.
The labor movement has always been about everyday people coming together—not just to fight for better wages but to imagine something more: control over our labor, our workplaces and our futures.
USFWC brings worker co-ops together to build the national infrastructure they need to thrive: peer support and technical assistance, worker benefits, and policy advocacy that amplifies their voice.
