About Us

Common Good® is the only nonprofit Money Services Business building social and financial infrastructure for the Solidarity Economy.

Our vision: We envision a society in which people gather locally to decide for themselves what their funding priorities should be, to advance a Common Good Economy — with plenty of money to fund those decisions.

Our mission is to design and establish the framework for that new economy by integrating a fast-growing mutual credit system with traditional bank accounts, to shift power away from big government and big business—back to communities, where people understand better what’s needed and care enough to fund it. This hybrid system gives today’s participants the experience of local economic sovereignty central to our vision of a Common Good Economy.

After 12 years of real-world testing, we’re ready to scale. We’re seeking a visionary Executive Director to lead that transition: working with a small number of fully-engaged communities to put the Common Good system into practice—building local power, resilience, and equity  fueled by collective vision, comprehensive economic data, and shared financial resources.

We’re a small, remote team strategically downsized to 3 part-time staff, governed by a volunteer board using sociocracy. We use the same principles internally: collaborative, values-driven, and always evolving.

More at CommonGood.earth.

The Role

You’ll shape strategy, grow and guide the team, and inspire partnerships. Your main focus will be to identify, recruit, and support three fully-engaged communities that will start rolling out the Common Good system by July 1, 2026. You’ll bring vision, clarity, and momentum, engaging a broad spectrum of community leaders—businesses, government officials, nonprofits, faith groups, educators, activists, and others—in a shared economic vision..

To succeed, you will need to be an outstanding communicator and relationship-builder, selling not just a system, but a vision and the confidence to pursue it.

You’ll report monthly to the board, with specific milestones and accountability, and supervise the staff—including our founder, who is stepping back from leadership but available to advise and continue software development for a maximum of two years.

What Hangs in the Balance

This is a pivotal year for Common Good. We have committed all of our assets to this next chapter, to support your leadership and bring the Common Good system to life in three fully-engaged communities.

This is not a rescue effort. It is a focused, strategic investment in expanding a proven system with full support from the board, staff, and founder. The benefit to participating communities – and potentially all communities – is enormous, as explained in our 7-minute video at cg4.us/video.

You will be well-supported by experienced staff, modern systems, and a strong foundation. What we need now is a leader who can turn readiness into traction, vision into trust, and trust into momentum—in community.
