The Dorchester Food Co-op, a start-up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA is now seeking to hire a General Manager (GM) with the experience and drive to take on the challenge of opening a member-owned cooperative grocery store in the largest and most diverse neighborhood in Boston, Founded in 2012 by a group of cooperatively minded community residents, we have grown from an idea to a reality. We have built a growing base of over 1000 household member-owners, a strong BIPOC led Board of Directors, and a team of active volunteers. We are opening a brick-and-mortar, $2.5 million annual, 6000 sf retail grocery store. We broke ground in January 2021 with a target date for store opening in June 2022. The Dorchester Food Co-op will be the only food co-op in the City of Boston and its adjacent communities.
