Operations and Membership Manager (Part-Time 1099 Contractor)
Annual Compensation: $35–45/hour DOE
Hours: ~40–60 hours per month (flexible scope depending on experience)
Location: Remote (candidates must reside in Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska, or Hawai’i)

The Northwest Community Land Trust Coalition (NWCLTC) strengthens the Community Land Trust movement across the Northwest by supporting peer learning, shared resources, and collective power-building. About the Role
NWCLTC is hiring a Part-Time Operations and Membership Manager to help build stronger, more sustainable internal systems and to support the members and partners who shape this movement. The role focuses on financial administration, event coordination, and member engagement. It is intentionally flexible and can be shaped around the strengths, experience, and availability of the person hired. We value lived experience, community-rooted knowledge, and passion for the CLT movement as much as formal credentials.
What You’ll Do
- Provide logistics support and planning for The Gathering (annual conference) in partnership with the Gathering Committee
- Manage financial processes including invoices, payments, receipt tracking, receivables reports, membership payments, and monthly reporting in QuickBooks
- Manage and support member communications, including Constant Contact newsletters, email inquiries, website updates on Wix, and social media
- Support logistics for membership events and the annual members’ meeting in March in partnership with the Membership Committee
- Manage the membership list, including outreach and follow-ups for unpaid dues
- Support administrative functions such as scheduling, recordkeeping, and timely nonprofit compliance filings
- Help improve internal systems and documentation
- Check and process physical mail
- Provide support with fundraising
- Carry out other responsibilities as assigned, consistent with a part-time schedule

Valued Experience
- Knowledge of or connection to Community Land Trusts
- Experience supporting nonprofit or member-based organizations
Work Environment
- Remote role with flexible scheduling
- Availability for meetings during Pacific and Mountain time-zone working hours
- Occasional evenings and weekends around the Annual Gathering (held in the fall)
- Ability to travel domestically at least once per year for the Annual Gathering
