This family of products aims to provide growers with clean, natural, and transparent ingredients for their growth goals. Tilth Soils products are used by farmers, home gardeners, landscapers, cannabis cultivators, and for a range of other applications.

Job Description: Sales Representative

Cleveland, OH

Wage: $22.00/hour

As a Sales Representative of Tilth Soil, you will be responsible for generating leads, building relationships with potential customers, and closing sales to meet and exceed sales targets across all sales channels. You will represent our company’s products/services to prospective clients, provide solutions to their needs, and ensure a positive customer experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sales processes and techniques, as well as the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Occasionally, you will represent Tilth at conferences, so travel and overnight stays are a part of the position as well.

This position reports to 2701 Saint Clair Ave. Cleveland, OH but may also travel to customer locations for sales and check-ins. This position is full-time, with the flexibility to work remotely as well as on some nights and weekends as required by seasonal demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Identify and qualify leads through cold calling, networking, and other lead generation strategies.
  • Fully understand all customer channels – including direct to consumer and wholesale partnerships, and recommend appropriate solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Negotiate and close sales deals to achieve sales targets and quotas.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to identify new opportunities and challenges.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate sales reports, forecasts, and customer records using CRM software.
  • Attend sales meetings, training sessions, and industry events to enhance product knowledge and professional development.
  • Assist in identifying, registering, and working farm markets, plant sales, conferences, and other events as required.
  • Assist with inventory communication and maintenance.
  • Partake in facility and company shared responsibilities including cleaning, attending meetings, and providing timely input.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of success in sales, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence customers.
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills, with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales tools (e.g., Google/ Microsoft Software Suite, Social Media, Analytics) is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (if applicable).
  • Ability to lift and carry 40lbs.
  • Ability to work on a collaborative,  self-managed team.
  • Ability to be flexible to changing hours and position responsibilities.

Sales Scope Member

At Rust Belt Riders and Tilth Soil, we operate in Scopes. As a member of our team, the following responsibilities must be met.

Scope Member Responsibilities

  • Surfacing tensions arising from conducting the work of the scope, tracking those and bringing them to the meetings, including interpersonal tensions arising from daily work and any feedback for any scope members to be offered during the interpersonal and personal development practices, including performance reviews.
  • Preparing for scope meetings by reviewing and updating recurring tasks, projects that relate to our current roles, and presenting those as clearly and succinctly as possible, and adding agenda items to the living agenda before the meeting.
  • Attending all scope meetings.
  • Digesting meeting proceedings by capturing the next actions and projects that belong to them and integrating them into the tracking systems.
  • Tracking projects and tasks regularly including prioritizing projects in alignment with their scope’s strategic initiatives.
  • Establishing routines for processing inboxes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Identifying misalignments between any scope member and the roles they are filling, communicating those to the scope lead, or initiating an election process to support role-fulfillment.
  • Conducting role & accountability scrubs regularly and bringing forward changes to meetings.
  • Acting beyond their roles when necessary to support the health and efficiency of the scope, tracking those occurrences, and bringing them back to the standard meeting practice of the scope for processing into further clarity for the scope.
  • Fulfilling “what it means to hold a role” in this scope member role as well as all other roles one is holding.
