📖 Organization Description

TAABIR is a vocational school in development based in Dallas, Texas, rooted in the principles of the solidarity economy, justice, and collective liberation. We aim to provide accessible, values-driven training in woodworking, fabrication, and ownership skills to underserved communities — including immigrants, returning citizens, and low-income workers. Our long-term vision is to support graduates in forming worker cooperatives and building wealth and power in their own communities. TAABIR is currently in its founding phase, and we are building a team of organizers, educators, and builders to bring the school to life in 2025.

As part of this phase, we are launching a cohort of fellows interested in taking a cooperative  LIFT Economy’s NextMBA program together. This program helps develop the foundation for TAABIR’s ongoing growth and network.

The LIFT Economy’s NextMBA is a cooperative business education program designed specifically for worker-owners and cooperatives. This program provides practical, hands-on training in cooperative governance, management, and ownership skills.

Our TAABIR fellows will participate in this MBA program together, gaining the knowledge and skills to help launch and sustain worker cooperatives in their communities.

The Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting fellows throughout this journey — helping track progress, facilitating meetings, and maintaining momentum toward the larger goal of cooperative development.

🔍 Responsibilities

Coordinate ongoing communication and follow-up with TAABIR fellows, including scheduling and facilitating bi-monthly meetings
Develop and maintain planning and board documents to track progress and strategic goals
Lay groundwork and assist in planning for a larger stakeholder meeting scheduled for December

Assist with synthesizing meeting notes and action items to keep all parties aligned

Plus: background in environmental justice, construction industry, or experience in education or vocational training

Interested in or open to joining the LIFT Economy NextMBA program this fall
