Federal spending has been slashed, and funding destined for cooperatives and cooperative development is no exception. The full ripple effect is still unfolding. But it is clear the worker cooperative movement faces real threats to our mission of building shared well-being through worker-ownership and democratic control.
Our members all across the country are organizing to defend and expand cooperative policy and secure new resources. Here are some ways our members are asking for support:
Call to action from Sustainergy worker co-op: Help save small businesses and taxpayers money by helping keep the 25C Tax Credit for solar installation in place beyond 2025!
For New Yorkers from Custom Collaborative: Urge NYC City Hall and the Department of City Planning to adopt seven key protections that keep the Garment District thriving
For Pennsylvanians from Childspace centers worker co-op: join a community that cares about access to quality child care for Pennsylvania families to learn how you can take action to protect and expand investments in early education
Call to action from Rock Steady Farm worker co-op: Tell Congress to lift the funding freeze impacting farms across the country
Even in hard times, challenges can lead to bold action and surprising partnerships. In the hardest moments, people come together to find cooperative ways to survive, support each other, and stay strong. But the only way we’ve ever built real power is by working together.
