Let’s make sure the Chief of the DOL’s Division of Employee Ownership is a cooperator

The Worker Ownership and Readiness and Knowledge Act (WORK Act) passed last year, creating the Division of Employee Ownership at the Department of Labor (DOL).

The DOL is currently putting the staff of this division together, and are currently hiring a Division Chief. We want to make sure this person ensures worker co-ops are centralized in the work of this office, so we’re sharing this job post in the hopes that our network can surface great candidates for the position. If you applied previously, it’s ok and encouraged to apply again.  A few important things to know:

  • The job posting is open from Feb 8 – Feb 21, 2024
  • Location:  Any EBSA office nationwide.  Locations include Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, Silver Spring (MD) or Washington, DC.
  • Salary: Approximately $155,700 plus benefits
  • It is unlikely that the DOL will promote someone from within for this position, because they lack deep internal knowledge of worker ownership, so they are looking to us for qualified candidates!
